I’m not usually one for sentimental gifts, but writing a year’s worth of notes on those paper hearts and tying each with the cream twine felt surprisingly personal. She’s already asked where we’ll put the bottle when it’s full.

My wife teared up when she saw the little paper hearts and twine—so much more thoughtful than a store-bought card. We’re going to add a new note every year on our anniversary.
